NOTD - Revlon Galaxy

This is a NOTD I had a couple weeks ago. After a couple days with Misbehaving Mistress I decided to spice it up a bit. I had recently bought Revlon Galaxy on a whim when I saw it in Walgreens and thought it looked pretty amazing. Turns out, it IS pretty freaking sweet. Check it out!

Revlon Galaxy over Barielle Misbehaving Mistress

Isn't it so neat looking! It has (from what I can tell) black, blue, and iridescent small glitter, with large holo hexagon silver glitter. This was taken in artificial light and doesn't show the holo-ness, but trust me, it's there! I'm definitely going to try this one over lots of other colors.

I also have the red glitter Revlon Slipper from the same collection that I got solely because of Scrangie's post here. Seriously, how awesome is THAT?!

What do you think? Did you like this or any of the other glitters in the recent Revlon collection?

Del Sol Trick-or-Treat Swatches and Review

I got an email from Del Sol recently announcing their new Halloween nail polish named Trick-or-Treat and I knew I had to have it. I emailed back asking if Walgreens would stock them. Unfortunately not all Walgreens ordered them (none in AZ did), but luckily I have a Del Sol store that's pretty close to where I live so I picked it up!

It's really neat-looking in the bottle because it's a crazy copper/orange fine glitter mixed with a bunch of fine silver holo glitter. Outside, the bottle looks like the base turns black while you can still see both colors of glitter. On the nail it turns out to be a bit less spectacular, but still pretty awesome. I tried the first nail (my index) with Trick-or-Treat on its own, and it's a little "dirty" looking, so I decided to try layering it over other colors (2 coats layered on each color, 3 coats on its own). Shown below are Trick-or Treat over (thumb to pinkie) China Glaze Marmalade, by itself, Essence Get the Fever, Barielle Make it a Latte, and Wet'n'Wild Black Creme.

Del Sol Trick-or-Treat (sun)

Overall, I think I like it over brown the best because it complements the copper color of the glitter, and it looks like a deep rich black in the sun, although the oranges look pretty awesome too! Over the orange, it turned more of a deep, dark plum purple instead of black.

As far as I know, it may be hard to find this one in Walgreens, but most Del Sol storefronts should have it available. If you don't live near a Del Sol store, you can order it online at http://www.delsol.com/, but I'm not sure about their international shipping policy.

So what do you think? Do you like the cool color changes of Del Sol Trick-or-Treat?

Barielle Misbehaving Mistress

Today I have for you some pictures of Barielle Misbehaving Mistress. This has to be one of the most awesome colors I own. In some lights it looks just like beautiful dark pearls, while in other lights it looks more brown, and other times is looks more like a dark metallic charcoal. No matter what, it's AMAZING. Check it out!

Barielle Misbehaving Mistress

You can see in the second picture that it shows brushstrokes just a tid bit, but really, it's only SLIGHTLY noticable in certain types of lighting (like direct sun). Otherwise it just looks mostly like a smooth pearly or metallic finish. Such a unique color, and I own nothing even remotely close to either the base color or the finish of this polish, not to mention that it's very flattering on as well! I think this has definitely made it into my collection of absolute favorites!

Halloween NOTD and Nfu-Oh giveaway!

Since it's October now, I'm getting super excited for Halloween, which is my favorite holiday!! I found a picture of a manicure like this a while back and wanted to replicate it, but it didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped...

Bear with me that I had to photograph my right hand for this one (which is surprisingly awkward and difficult!) because my Little Bird decided to wreck on of my nails on my left hand. Also, I had my left ring finger nail tear WAY too far down, so I can't clip and/or file it off. I'm in the process of finding a way to repair it; I tried Orly Nail Rescue, which seems to be fine, but I may put a thin layer of clear acrylic over it until it grows out enough to file it down. Anyway, please ignore the ugly bump on my middle finger that comes from writing too many notes in my aerospace classes!

China Glaze Marmalade & Art Club black striping polish

I used China Glaze Marmalade for the chevrons on the tips, then an Art Club black striping polish. For some reason, when I put Poshe topcoat on it, it pulled the black!! It looked kinda cool, but I would have preferred it to stay where I put it... :o)

I have some of the OPI Burlesque glitters and a few of the China Glaze Holiday 2010 collection coming from Transdesign.com sometime this week, so hopefully I will have come swatches for you soon!

Oh, and Michelle from The Lacquer Files is having a giveaway of the awesome Nfu-Oh 51! Such an awesome color! Check out her swatches and enter the giveaway here!
